13 O’Clock Episode 317 LIVE: John Wilkes Booth

It’s an American history rabbit hole on today’s installment of 13 O’Clock! Famously, in April of 1865, President Abraham Lincoln was assassinated at Ford’s Theatre in Washington DC by a well-known actor by the name of John Wilkes Booth. Booth, a vociferous Confederate sympathizer, apparently believed that killing Lincoln would avenge the South’s loss in the Civil War, but things didn’t turn out quite the way Booth thought they would, and both he and several of his co-conspirators ended up hanged or shot for their part in the murder. What could have caused this successful actor to have taken such drastic measures? Travel back through the centuries on this horrific and historical episode 317.
