13 O’Clock Episode 124 – The Axeman of New Orleans and the Mulatto Axe Murders

It’s our first show of the new year, and what better way to start off 2019 than with a couple of old-timey axe murder cases? On this blood-spattered installment, we’re traveling back to the early 20th century to discuss the infamous unidentified serial killer known as the Axeman of New Orleans, who murdered six people and wounded six more between the spring of 1918 and the autumn of 1919. Then, on the second half, we’re delving a little deeper to talk about a nearly-forgotten rash of axe murders that took place between November 1909 and April 1912 in Louisiana and Texas that claimed the lives of at least 35 people. This series of horrific killings, known as the Mulatto Axe Murders or the Voodoo Murders, may have been perpetrated by an eighteen-year-old girl, Clementine Barnabet, who was allegedly a member of a voodoo cult and had several accomplices to her crimes. Was she really the monster she was made out to be, or was it all media hype? Lock your doors and fire up your jazz records, it’s time to swing the blade on episode 124. Happy New Year, everybody!

13 O’Clock Episode 123 – Christmas Special: The Warminster Thing and the Rendlesham Forest Incident

On this fun, festive Christmas special, Tom and Jenny will be discussing two fascinating British UFO cases that also happened to take place right around Christmastime: the decades-long series of UFO sightings and other strange auditory phenomena collectively known as The Warminster Thing, the main bulk of which began on Christmas Day of 1964; and the infamous Rendlesham Forest Incident, which occurred on December 26th & 28th of 1980 and has gone on to become one of the best known alleged UFO sightings in the world. Back on the true crime tip on this installment of 13 O’Clock, Tom and Jenny are discussing the terrifying and fascinating run of murders that took place in London, Ontario, Canada between the years of 1959 and 1984. During this time period, the small Canadian metropolis was known as the Serial Killer Capital of the World, due to its unusually high number of serial homicides, most of them targeted at women and girls; not to mention the fact that London also played host to at least SIX serial killers at the time, and possibly many more who were never caught. What was it about this seemingly unassuming city that caused such a paroxysm of violence? Travel with Tom and Jenny to the blood-soaked streets of Murder City on this hair-raising episode 122.
