13 O’Clock Episode 251 LIVE: Serial Killer Danny Rolling, The Gainesville Ripper

In August of 1990, the college town of Gainesville, Florida became embroiled in terror as an unknown assailant known as the Gainesville Ripper broke into the homes of several college students and proceeded to rape, murder, and horribly mutilate them. The police, initially distracted by a suspect who seemed to tick all the boxes but turned out to not be the killer, eventually got their man: serial killer Danny Rolling, who it turned out had also perpetrated a brutal triple homicide in Shreveport, Louisiana before wandering into Florida to continue his butchery. Tune in to episode 251 as Tom and Jenny discuss this horrifying case of collegiate carnage that served as the partial inspiration for the 1996 horror film Scream.
