Here on 13 O’Clock, we’ve covered a lot of creepy disappearances and unsolved murders, but every now and then, some of these cold cases actually do get solved. On this installment, Tom and Jenny will be discussing updates to some of the missing persons cases we’ve talked about on prior shows, including the disappearances of Brandon Lawson, Alissa Turney, and Andrew Gosden. We’ll also talk about the bizarre case of Sherri Papini, which was recently solved, and get into the high-profile case of Gabby Petito, also cracked in 2021. And as a bonus, we’ll get into a horrific lover’s lane murder from 1956 — that of Patty Kalitzke and Duane Bogle — that was definitively solved with DNA after more than 65 years, as well as a gruesome murder from 1971 — that of Maureen Brubaker Farley — which was also finally cracked the same year. In March of 2014, a Boeing 777 containing 227 passengers and 12 crew members vanished while on a routine flight from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing. Although the bulk of the wreckage has never been found, pieces of debris that have washed up on various beaches, as well as the unusual satellite data that emerged in the wake of the disappearance, suggest that the plane was deliberately flown off course and also, possibly, deliberately crashed into the ocean. What happened aboard Flight 370? Was it hijacked? Did the captain commit a horrifying type of suicide? Was the whole event some masssive cover-up? First, we’ll discuss the disappearance of famed female aviatrix Amelia Earhart, who along with her navigator Fred Noonan, vanished somewhere in the Pacific Ocean during the final leg of her historic around-the-world flight in 1937. Then, on the second half, gird your loins and keep the liquor handy, because we’ll be talking about one of the most f*cked up cults we’ve ever heard of (and that’s saying something). Known as the Ant Hill Kids, the group was formed in 1977 by French Canadian psychopath Roch Theriault as an offshoot of the Seventh-Day Adventists, but soon descended into an unbelievable nightmare of torture, mutilation, abuse, and murder. Seriously, this story’s rough, even for us. So gather your beverage and snacks of choice, and relax for a kinda schizophrenic episode 247.

13 O’Clock Episode 108 – The Boys from Yuba City, aka the American Dyatlov Pass

On today’s cold and creepy installment, Tom and Jenny are tackling an oft-requested, mysterious unexplained deaths case: the so-called Boys from Yuba City, otherwise known as the American Dyatlov Pass incident. In 1978, five young men disappeared in a snowy California forest, only to be found months later with no explanation as to how they ended up where they did or why they ended up dead. All this, plus a brief news story out of Georgia about a Jane Doe found dismembered in a landfill. Bundle up against the inclement weather and warm your frozen tootsies by the fire of episode 108.
