Rosaleen Norton, a New Zealand-born occultist and artist born in 1917, led a controversial life marked by rebellion and mysticism. Embracing paganism, witchcraft, and esotericism, Norton gained notoriety for her unconventional practices and beliefs, becoming known in the tabloids as The Witch of Kings Cross, named after the neighborhood in Sydney, Australia where she lived. Throughout her life, she delved into ceremonial magic, drawing inspiration from Aleister Crowley and the works of the occult. Despite facing societal condemnation and legal battles for her art and lifestyle, Norton remained steadfast in her exploration of the occult realms.
