13 O’Clock Episode 372: Poltergeist Cases with an Older Focus

Anyone familiar with paranormal activity is surely aware that in most purported poltergeist cases, there is usually an emotionally volatile adolescent in the affected home who is suspected to be the focus of the manifestations. This is not always the case, however, and there have been a handful of interesting instances where poltergeist shenanigans broke out in a home where no teenagers were present, or where the teenager was obviously not the source of the problem. On this episode, Tom and Jenny discuss a few cases of poltergeist outbreaks where there was no clear focus, or where the focus appeared to be an adult or someone much older than usual. We’ll be covering the Indianapolis Poltergeist case from 1962, the Miami workplace poltergeist from 1966, Don Decker the Rain Man, the St. Quentin case from 1986, and the Atlanta blood poltergeist from 1987.

13 O’Clock Episode 173 – The Bell Witch Legend

On this spooky installment, Tom and Jenny are exploring the paranormal once again and discussing what is probably the best-known American ghost story, the legend of the Bell Witch of Adams, Tennessee. So the story goes, in 1817, the Bell family began to be tormented by an invisible entity that slapped the children around, talked at length about various topics, and allegedly poisoned patriarch John Bell in 1820. The story seemed to be a mostly regional tale until The Blair Witch Project used it as loose inspiration, and several movies have since been made adapting aspects of the legend (the best of which is probably An American Haunting). Light your gas lamps and huddle together in Bell Witch Cave as we spin the terrifying tale of a murderous poltergeist on episode 173.
