Prince Andrew’s relationship with Jeffrey Epstein began in 1999 after an introduction by Ghislaine Maxwell, quickly evolving into a close social friendship that included frequent meetings, travel on Epstein’s private jet (the “Lolita Express”), visits to his properties (including Little St. James island), and hosting Epstein and Maxwell at royal residences such as Windsor Castle and Balmoral. Despite Epstein’s 2008 conviction for procuring a minor for prostitution, Andrew maintained contact, most notably visiting him in New York in December 2010 shortly after his release and being photographed walking together in Central Park—an encounter Andrew later described as an attempt to formally end the friendship out of a sense of “honour.” Andrew has always insisted the relationship was not particularly intimate and expressed regret only for its continuation post-conviction, while denying any knowledge of or involvement in Epstein’s criminal activities. The association, however, became the defining controversy of Andrew’s later life, leading to serious allegations from Virginia Giuffre, the disastrous 2019 BBC Newsnight interview, his withdrawal from public duties, a multimillion-pound civil settlement, and ultimately the complete stripping of his royal titles and privileges.

Bill Cosby, a once-celebrated actor and comedian, has faced numerous allegations of sexual assault and misconduct spanning several decades. Over 60 women have publicly accused Cosby of sexual assault, misconduct, or rape, with alleged incidents dating as far back as the 1960s. Many accusers claimed that Cosby drugged them before assaulting them, often under the guise of offering career advice or mentorship. Due to the statute of limitations, most of the allegations could not lead to criminal prosecution, though they were instrumental in shaping public perception and legal momentum.

13 O’Clock Episode 128 – The Toy-Box Killer and the Beauty Queen Killer

It’s two more terrifying tales of true crime on today’s installment of 13 O’Clock. First up, we’ll be discussing the notorious David Parker Ray, better known as the Toy-Box Killer, a serial rapist, torturer, and suspected serial killer who kidnapped women with the help of his willing accomplices and subjected them to the most brutal torture imaginable inside of his purpose-built trailer. Then, on the second half, we’ll be talking about Christopher Wilder, aka The Beauty Queen Killer, who became infamous after an unbelievable 1984 rape and murder spree that lasted several months and claimed at least eight victims, most of whom were beautiful young women who Wilder would lure out of shopping malls by claiming to be a fashion photographer. Prepare a stiff drink and settle in for the ghastly journey into depravity that is episode 128.

13 O’Clock Episode 111 – The NorCal Rapist and the Grim Sleeper

On this true crime two-fer, Tom and Jenny are getting topical, as well as examining two cases that have been suggested by several listeners. First up, we’ll be tackling the case of the infamous NorCal Rapist, an offender who carried out at least ten attacks between 1991 and 2006, and was finally identified just recently through DNA as fifty-eight-year-old Roy Charles Waller. On the second half of the show, we’ll be discussing the chilling case of LA serial killer Lonnie David Franklin, better known as the Southside Slayer or the Grim Sleeper, who killed at least ten victims in the 1980s and the early 2000s. Lock your doors and windows and settle into the relative safety of a criminally creepy episode 111.

Most people have heard of Richard Ramirez, the infamous serial killer known as the Night Stalker. But what many people don’t know is that a decade before Ramirez commenced his reign of terror, a much more brutal and prolific serial killer and rapist stalked the upper-middle-class neighborhoods of California, from Sacramento to Irvine. This man, known alternately as the East Area Rapist, the Golden State Killer, the Diamond Knot Killer, or The Original Night Stalker, has never been apprehended, and may still be on the loose. On this episode, Tom and Jenny discuss his horrific crimes and speculate as to why he was never caught. 2016, in fact, marks the 40th anniversary of the Original Night Stalker’s first known crime, and the FBI have redoubled their efforts to track the guy down, offering a $50,000 reward for information leading to his capture and conviction.
