13 O’Clock Episode 146 – A Criminal History of Norwegian Black Metal

On this headbanging installment, Tom and Jenny are taking a meandering journey through the early black metal scene, and discussing some of the notorious crimes for which some members of Norwegian black metal bands became infamous, such as the rash of church burnings in Norway, the murder of Euronymous (of Mayhem) and the killing of a gay man in the streets of Lillehammer by Faust, a member of the band Emperor. Tom also waxes nostalgic about his early heavy metal days! Raise a horned hand in salute to episode 146.

On yet another gruesome installment, Tom and Jenny are talking about one of the most notorious serial killers of the 20th century, not to mention one of the nastiest fuckers to ever live. Hamilton Albert Fish was born in 1870 and grew into a man with pretty much every sexual deviance imaginable, and the whole rotten situation culminated in the 1920s with his murder of at least three children, at least one of whom he cooked and ate. Get the bleach bath ready and keep the anti-depressants to hand, because we’re diving deep into the twisted world of cannibal Albert Fish on episode 145.

On this installment, we’re going full-on historical horror and discussing the notorious 15th century French knight Gilles de Rais, a fantastically wealthy war hero who fought alongside Joan of Arc, but is also suspected of raping, torturing, and murdering over 100 children and believed to the the inspiration for Charles Perrault’s tale of Bluebeard. But how much of Gilles’s criminal rap sheet is actually verified? Some researchers think that the entire litany of murder and mayhem attributed to Gilles was nothing but an elaborate witch hunt to get a hold of his vast fortune, property, and power. Don your armor and break out the brioche as Tom and Jenny break down the fascinating case of the alleged real-life Bluebeard on episode 144.
